Passionfruit or Passion Fruit? One word or two?
This semi-sweet peach and passionfruit mead is produced from raw honey from the Hunter Valley region of NSW.
Honey used in Honey Wines Australia’s meads have been filtered but otherwise untouched.
This particular mead is 14% alcohol and comes in a 750ml bottle.
Fruit pulp settles to the bottom over time, invert the bottle before serving.
This mead flavour has a very nice smell, someone once commented ‘if you ever go out of business with mead you could go into the perfume business’.
Our bees visited around one million flowers to create this bottle of mead and flew approximately 44,000km.
We use a tiny amount of potassium metabisulfite to sterilise wild yeast in honey before fermentation starts (as we like raw unheated honey), probably not enough to even be worth mentioning but we put it on the label just in case for those with allergies.
