Our tastings are designed as an introduction to the meads we produce and sell here.
You’ll learn about traditional and creative mead styles, sample them, and have the opportunity to take bottles home if you wish.
Welcome to your cellar door tasting at Honey Wines Australia — a working meadery and retail shop in Broke, NSW.
Our tastings are designed to introduce you to the range of handcrafted meads we produce and sell onsite. You’ll sample several styles guided by the mead maker and then have the opportunity to take home bottles if you wish.
You will be guided through this unique tasting by the owner and mead maker, learning about the history, ingredients, and fermentation techniques that make mead distinct from wine.
Mead & Honey Tasting:
The $25 tasting fee includes a $20 credit redeemable toward mead bottles available in our shop. This tasting is a guided introduction to our products — and you’re welcome to use your credit toward bottles you’d like to take home. Unused credit is not refunded and cannot be pooled/combined. (e.g. For a couple, 2 credits can be used toward a 2-bottle purchase, but cannot be combined toward a single bottle).

Please note: No food is included with this experience, but you are very welcome to bring your own snacks or a cheese platter along to enjoy during the session.
Mead flavours in stock will vary, but usually include:
- Traditional (Plain) Mead
- Potion of Speak To Animals (Cherry & Coconut)
- Mana Potion (mixed fruits)
- Stamina Potion (Choc Truffle)
- Regen Potion (Ginger & Chocolate)
- Regen Potion MK II (Chilli & Cherry)
- Health Potion (Coconut and Lime)
- Cola Mead (Pepsi Max)
- Peach Ice Tea Mead
- Potion of Mind Reading (Turkish Delight)
- Potion of Invisibility (Caramel)
Following the mead tasting, you will taste a few local honey varieties, including raw honey, vanilla bean honey, creamed honey or cinnamon creamed honey.
The experience usually lasts 45-60 minutes or longer if larger groups.
WEEKDAY BOOKINGS/PRIVATE BOOKINGS:
For us to open specially for you, on a day outside of Friday, Saturday or Sunday, there is a minimum of 4 tickets. You can be less than 4 people, that’s fine, you just need to pay for at least 4. The price becomes $30 per ticket with $20 redeemable credit per ticket. Select the PRIVATE tasting option on the bookings page.
Booking & Cancellation Policy
All tasting bookings are final. Because we have limited seating and prepare for each group in advance, we are unable to offer refunds, credits, or date changes once a booking is confirmed.
If you are organising a group and are unsure of your final numbers, we strongly recommend waiting to book until a few days before your planned visit, rather than booking extra seats in advance and have someone drop out.
No-shows will be charged the full price.
Large Groups:
Group sizes above the maximum set in our bookings calendar are sometimes possible at request. Our tasting price applies to all group sizes and we don’t offer group discounts.
