Honey Wines Australia Latest News

What We Have Been Up To

The last time I did an update of what we’ve been up to I said we were planning to buy land and open a cellar door in the wine tourism region of NSW, the Hunter Valley. Although that is still the goal it will be put on hold until Covid is under control and tourism to the area resumes. It was perhaps lucky that we didn’t purchase a place then as we’d have been stuck with loan repayments without cellar door sales backing it up.

The website continues to support us in the meantime and we are thankful to all our customers during these difficult times. In the past few months, more products have been added to the site, we did a trial of hand made ox horn cups and mugs and they have proved very popular as gifts. We are looking to having an option for custom engraving in the near future.

As beekeepers we have plenty of honey and beeswax so have added beeswax lip balm and creamed/whipped honey including chocolate honey. Plans for ginger honey and possibly vanilla honey are also in the works.

Why Do You Have Beer, Wine and Spirits Categories Now?

We have set up various other related product categories to see if we can slowly grow their ranking in Google to the point that it might be viable to stock and sell such products in addition to our mead. For now, we do not stock them and instead the products listed are sold via the suppliers own website, in this case, The Wine Collective and Boozebud and we get a commission of any clicks that turn into sales.

So that’s what we’ve been up to, we’re looking forward to Spring so the bees start producing again and we can make more mead.
